St Bede’s College, founded in 1911, is a proud, traditional Catholic secondary school for boys. It offers a broad-based education with strong emphasis on values, and the holistic development of its students. St Bede’s is well-respected for its academic and sporting success. It is set in 22 hectares of park-like grounds, one of the largest grounds of any Christchurch school. The College’s aim is to have each boy live by “Faith and Work”.

St Bede’s College students have achieved success in a wide range of sports, including athletics, golf and basketball. 81% of students participate in organised sport. St Bede’s College has a strong rugby record. The 1st XV was the top rugby school in Christchurch in 2015. In Athletics, St Bede’s has been the top team in Canterbury for the last five years.
